What does the upcoming 2017 Hyundai Sonata have in common with a black hole? It can bend light.

A new feature called Dynamic Bending Light will be available on several 2017 Hyundai models, including the Elantra, Santa Fe, Santa Fe Sport, and the all-new Ioniq. Unlike a supermassive black hole, galaxy cluster, or other stellar object, the feature will not be bending light in the technical sense.

They're much too efficient and lightweight to cause gravitational lensing.

Instead, Dynamic Bending Light turns the headlights with the direction of the curve, as you turn the steering wheel. Where you turn, it turns, so you're never driving blind into the dark. Coupled with High Beam Assist, which automatically dims your high beams when it detects oncoming traffic, you'll be impressed with how comfortably visible night driving can be.
