It what could be seen as proof of Hyundai's push to be at the forefront of automotive-related technology, the automaker has recently announced its intention to publish a new app for smartphones and tablets. The app will offer an "augmented reality" owner's manual, and will allow customers to use their devices to "get how-to information for repairs, maintenance, and vehicle features.

The app makes use of two- and three-dimensional tracking to allow users to simply position their device's camera over the part they want to learn about. The first model to make use of the app will be the Sonata, with other models to follow shortly after.

This isn't the first app for the Sonata. With the Blue Link app (shown in the short clip, below), customers can control features of their car from their smartphone.

We don't know when other models will be available, but we'll definitely be keep track, so keep checking back for more news.
