As far as premium coupes go, the Genesis Coupe available at Annapolis Hyundai is one popular car. Available with two powerful engine options and sporty suspension, it's no wonder the car is so sought after by those who like a little dose of luxury with their performance. But what if the Genesis Coupe had even more in the way of ponies? That's just what Hyundai and Bisimoto set out to do when offering the automaker's first SEMA show car.

For the sake of comparison, the top tier Genesis Coupe offers a 3.8-liter V-6 engine at 348 horsepower. The SEMA-tuned car, however, has modified this so that it generates a staggering 1,000 horsepower. How is this possible, you might ask? Bisimoto has the answer.

Bisimoto are engine gurus who specialize in tweaking power plants in ways that really ramp up the ponies. In the case of the Genesis Coupe, these modifications come in the form of new custom headwork, a Godzilla blow-shaft, a new camshaft and steel connecting rods.

"The core powerplant must be strong enough to withstand advanced modifications," said Bisi Ezerioha, Bisimoto Engineering's owner. "The Genesis Coupe 3.8-liter Lambda engine is a thoroughly robust powerplant, and Bisimoto Engineering is excited to develop it to its full potential for the rigors of competitive motorsport."1

And we're excited to see the results in action!

While the Genesis Coupe we have on our lot isn't on pony steroids, it's still quite a stylish auto. Swing by our Annapolis, MD showroom and we'd love to share it with you on a test drive.
