When a consumer purchased an engine separately they used to be shipped to the buyer in a crate, hence the namesake for an engine that is bought by itself.  They may not be shipped in crates nowadays, but the name stands, and soon those who drive one of the vehicles from us at Annapolis Hyundai will be able to boost their power with a crate engine from our brand.

For all of the racing enthusiasts out there in the Baltimore, Maryland region, or just those looking to get more power from their Hyundai vehicle, two crate engines will soon be available from the South Korean automaker.

The first available motor will be the Lambda 3.8-liter direct-injected V-6, and will start at the price of $9,000.  The Theta 2-liter four-cylinder will be the second available engine from Hyundai, and will come at a base price of $4,500.  This second motor will come ready to be turbocharged by the buyer, or, for an addition cost the job can be done for them prior to shipping, with turbocharger, intercooler and ducting done by the brand.

The motivating force for Hyundai entering the crate engine market is the popularity of the Genesis Coupe, and the fact that more and more are entering the world of pre-owned automotives.  With these vehicles, most owners like to customize them to fit their driving needs, and the availability of more powerful engines assists in doing this.

If you own a Genesis Coupe from our inventory of new or used Hyundai vehicles here in Annapolis, Maryland, and would like to boost the power under the hood, you will soon be able to do that.  When the time comes to install your new engine if you need assistance the professionals in our service center would be more than happy to help you.
