Hyundai recently partnered with H2USA in a public-private partnership that was created by the Department of Energy (DOE) which is meant to unite automakers, researchers and others to create hydrogen infrastructure here in the United States.

Even though many pieces of this initiative are only beginning to develop, Hyundai  has been working day in and day out independently on the automaker's own hydrogen fuel cell cars. In fact, one has already been officially delivered in Europe.

In particular, the first of the production ix35 fuel cell models were sent to Copenhagen, Denmark. These eco-friendly models were debuted by Hyundai's European sales team, Hyundai Motor Europe, at the opening ceremony of Denmark's first hydrogen refueling station.

Discussing the event, Byung Kwon Rhim, President of Hyundai Motor Europe notes, "Hyundai Motor is committed to hydrogen as the fuel of the future for Europe. Delivering assembly-line produced ix35 Fuel Cell is evidence that we have a realistic solution to the region's sustainable mobility needs."1

The core of the ix35 Fuel Cell is that the vehicle doesn't release toxins into the air via the tailpipe. In fact, the vehicle only emits water vapors.  One reason the vehicle was delivered to Copenhagen is because the city has a lofty, yet attainable goal of becoming entirely carbon-neutral by the year 2025. And, with the welcoming of the new ix35, Copenhagen is one step in the right direction to achieving this admirable goal.

Are you ready to learn more about Hyundai's eco-friendly vehicles?
